Recipe for pockets filled with a nut filling:
What we will need:
Dough:
- 500 g plain flour
- 8 g yeast
- 80 g butter
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 300 ml milk
- 100 g crystal sugar
- 5 g salt
Filling:
- 4 apples
- 150 g sugar
- 5 g cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 10 ml milk
- 150 g mixed walnuts
How we will proceed:
1) Start by mixing the milk, sugar and yeast. Stir and let rest under a towel for 15 minutes.
2) Now add the egg, egg yolk and salt. Mix again.
3) Now add the flour. Work out a nice dough.
4) Once the dough starts to form a bit add the butter and work it in thoroughly.
5) Let the dough rise under a towel for 60 minutes.
6) Roll out the dough on a floured rolling pin.
7) Moving on to the filling. On a low heat, start cooking, grated apples, blended nuts, sugar and cinnamon.
8) Spread the filling evenly over our dough.
9) In the next step, cut the dough as you can see in the picture. Then cut it into 2 halves.
10) Now start scrolling towards the cut strips.
11) Finally, cut into individual pockets and place on a baking sheet that you have lined with baking paper.
12) Brush with beaten egg and milk.
13) Bake at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.
