Recipe for a very tasty Babylon cake :

SPONGE CAKE:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons potato flour
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

CREAM:

  • 750 ml milk
  • 200 g butter
  • 100 g chocolate
  • 2 chocolate puddings

CREME II:

  • 330 ml cream 30%
  • 250 g mascarpone
  • 0,5 cup icing sugar

1. Whip the egg whites into a stiff snow.

2. Gradually add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

3. Add the egg yolks one at a time and mix briefly until combined.

4. Add the sifted flour mixed with the baking powder and mix thoroughly.

5. Pour the batter onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees C for about 15 minutes.

6. Prepare the cream: whisk the custard powder in a glass of milk.

7. Pour the rest of the milk into a saucepan, add the crushed chocolate and butter. Stir until everything is melted.

8. Pour the stirred powders into the boiling milk and stir until a thick, uniform pudding is formed.

9. Spread a thin layer of currant jam over the sponge cake.

10. Put the warm pudding on top of the jam.

11. Put a layer of biscuits and let the dough cool.

12. Whip the cooled custard until stiff.

13. Add the icing sugar, mascarpone and mix briefly – until the ingredients are combined.

14. Put the cream mixture on the cake and refrigerate – preferably overnight.
