Brownies are small, inconspicuous cakes that people all over the world know. They are so timeless that generations of housewives and chocolate cake lovers have fallen in love with them. Increasingly, they are associated with the title of the world’s easiest brownie. Will you prepare them with us?
Chocolate brownies
What we will need:
- 200 g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
- 200 g butter
- 1 pinch of salt or teaspoon of instant coffee
- 200 g sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 tbsp plain flour
- 1 KL baking powder
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
How we will proceed:
1. Melt the chocolate and butter in a water bath.
2. When the mixture is liquid and glossy, let it cool a little.
3. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
4. In a large bowl, whisk the whole eggs with the sugar until foamy.
5. Then sift the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder into the bowl and incorporate lightly to lose as little air as possible. Repeat the process of careful mixing with the chocolate-butter mixture.
6. Pour the mixed batter into a deeper tin (20×20 cm) lined with baking paper.
7. Bake the brownies in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30 minutes. The edges should be firm and the centre should still be a little shaky when you take the brownie out of the oven.
8. Leave the cake to cool in the tin for 15-20 minutes and serve. It tastes great on its own, but will be even better with a dollop of freshly whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Our tip: To enhance the chocolate flavour, you can add a pinch of salt to the melted chocolate and butter, or add a teaspoon of instant coffee to the bulk ingredients.
