A delicious recipe for honey walnut dessert:
What we will need:
Dough:
- 420 g of plain or rye flour
- 150 g semolina sugar
- 150 g butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp soda
- 2 tbsp milk
Walnut mixture:
- 80 g butter
- 50 g semolina sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 250 g walnuts
Cream:
- 500 ml milk
- 2 vanilla puddings
- 60 g butter
- 2 tablespoons icing sugar
How we will proceed:
1. Start with the dough. Start by mixing all the ingredients for the dough and work into a dough. Divide the dough into 2 halves and roll each into a sheet about 5 mm thick.
2. Now prepare a baking tray which you line with baking paper. Place the first sheet of dough on the baking sheet. Bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, make the nut mixture. Heat the butter in a pan and gradually add the sugar, honey and chopped nuts. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture caramelizes nicely.
4. Now prepare a second baking tray, also lined with baking paper, and place the second sheet of pastry on it. Spread the still warm walnut mixture evenly over the dough. Bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.
5. Continue with the cream. Make a custard in the classic way with sugar, milk and butter. Spread this vanilla cream evenly on the FIRST slice of pastry. Next, place the SECOND slice of dough on top of the vanilla custard, sprinkling the nuts on top as you can see in the picture.
