In today’s article we have prepared a delicious recipe for yoghurt dessert lovers. This yogurt cake is simple to prepare and has an amazing taste. The moist, tasty dough and yoghurt cream make a perfect combination. So let’s see how to prepare it.
Yoghurt cake
What we will need:
For the dough:
- 2 egg yolks
- 80 g butter
- 70 g crystal sugar
- zest of one lemon
- 200 g semi-coarse flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
For the cream:
- 2 egg whites
- 80 g of sugar
- 400 g yoghurt (1 large cup)
- 3 tablespoons of plain flour
How we will proceed:
1. First, put the egg yolks in a bowl, add the sugar and whisk everything together. Next, add the melted butter and whisk again and add the lemon zest.
2. Next, stir in the flour and baking powder and work into a smooth dough, which you then divide into two parts.
3. Wrap both parts of the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, prepare the cream. Beat the egg whites and add the yoghurt to the cream. Then whisk in the sugar and plain flour.
5. Prepare a baking tin which you grease and flour. Press the first part of the dough evenly on the bottom.
6. Pour the yoghurt cream over the dough and grate the second part of the dough on top.
7. Place the tin in a preheated oven at 180 °C and bake for 35 minutes.
8. Sprinkle the finished cake with icing sugar, cut and serve.
