Apple roses from puff pastry
What we will need:
- 2 large apples with red skin
- puff pastry roll
- 1 small egg
- 3 heaped tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 teaspoon citric acid
- icing sugar for sprinkling
How we will proceed:
1. Cut the washed apples in half, remove the cores and slice into thin halves.
2. Pour 600 ml of boiling water and the citric acid into a saucepan. Stir and place the apples in the pot. Cover the pot and leave to stand for about 10 minutes to soften the apples. Meanwhile, stir the apples 2-3 times. Then drain and let them cool.
3. Put the sugar in a bowl and mix with the cinnamon. Melt the butter.
4. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 1,5 cm long strips.
5. Brush each strip of pastry with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and arrange the apple slices so that the skin part overlaps the top of the pie. Then roll them up.
6. Place the finished rosettes on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush each one with beaten egg. You can also lightly sprinkle the surface with sugar.
7. Place the rosettes in a preheated oven and bake until golden brown.
8. After baking, remove them from the oven until they have cooled. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
Good taste!
