Tasty bananas with vanilla cream:

What we will need:

For the dough:

  • flour – 1 cup
  • water – 1 cup
  • butter – 100 g
  • eggs – 3 pcs
  • sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • salt – 1 pinch

For the cream:

  • milk – 3 cups
  • sugar – 1 cup
  • vanilla sugar – 1 sachet
  • plain flour – 2 tablespoons
  • starch – 1 tablespoon
  • butter – 1 tablespoon
  • egg yolk – 1 piece

For the frosting:

  • milk chocolate

How we will proceed:

1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and add the plain flour, starch, sugar and one egg yolk. Mix everything thoroughly. Cook until thickened. Then add a tablespoon of butter and vanilla sugar to the mixture and whisk again until creamy. Cover the pot with parchment paper or foil and let stand for a while.

2. Melt a knob of butter, add water, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of sugar and stir in a cup of plain flour. Mix thoroughly with a fork without stopping until you get a thick dough. Fry it on the fire for a while, rubbing it until it is smooth and cohesive. Remove from the heat and tip the dough into a deep bowl. Add the three eggs one at a time and beat them thoroughly and without residue with an electric beater before adding the others. After the last egg has been added, the consistency of the batter should turn mushy.

3. Fill the finished dough into a decorating bag. Line a baking tray with baking paper and, using a pastry bag, press out strips of dough about five centimetres long at regular intervals. Wet your finger, adjust the shape as required and, when you are satisfied, bake them in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 15 minutes without opening the oven door. Then reduce the temperature to 180 °C and bake for a further 10 minutes until the surface is lightly browned. Remove the bananas immediately and leave to cool on a wire rack.

4. Place the vanilla cream in a pastry bag. Slice each banana and squeeze as much cream as will fit into it. Heat the milk chocolate on the stove and dip one side of each filled banana into it. If you like, you can make the chocolate into cross-shaped squares for decoration.
