Today we have prepared a delicious recipe for tasty cooked tomatoes with cabbage. It goes with almost everything as a side dish, but I personally like to eat this salad as a main dish. It tastes really delicious! Let’s do it.
Traditional boiled tomatoes with cabbage
What we will need:
- 1,5 kg tomatoes
- 1 head of white cabbage
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 100 ml vinegar
- bay leaf
- pepper
- jar stopper
How we will proceed:
1. Wash the tomatoes and white cabbage thoroughly. Then cut the cabbage into fine strips – the tomatoes will go into the jar whole. As a first layer, line the bottom with the chopped cabbage.
2. Place two bay leaves and a few black peppercorns on top.
3. Then add a layer of tomatoes and top them up again with the chopped cabbage. Continue in this way until the jars are full.
4. Pour boiling water over the prepared jar and leave to stand for a quarter of an hour. Then strain the water into a saucepan and add the prepared tablespoon of salt and two tablespoons of sugar.
5. Bring the infusion to the boil, then pour it back into the prepared jar and add 100 ml of vinegar. Immediately cork the jar and turn it upside down. Leave it like this until it has cooled completely.
6. Leave to stand and serve.
